Where to Route a Cuyahoga County Question

For current county-jail custody, start with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff app and the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center booking desk. Sheriff Harold A. Pretel's department is headquartered at 1215 West 3rd Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. General sheriff information is 216-443-6000, the published general email is shcuy@cuyahogacounty.gov, and the Records/Warrant Division is 216-443-6100.

The county inmate-information page states that prisoner drop-off and pick-up hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while prisoners on county warrants are booked at any time. For public records, use the county Matrix portal at cuyahogacounty.matrixpublicrecords.com or contact sheriff public-records manager Judy Blatnik at 216-443-6130 or jblatnik@cuyahogacounty.gov. There is no fee to file a county public-records request, though copy or media fees may apply under Ohio law.

• For someone who may be in the county jail, use the app-first route described on jail inmate records, then call the booking desk if the person does not appear.
• For booking photos or older booking records, review jail roster mugshots and use the public-records route when the app does not show the photo.
• For charges, bond orders, case numbers, and court dates after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts case search.
• For facility-specific visitation, mail, phone, commissary, or drop-off rules, use the facility pages linked in the footer.
• For a sentenced Ohio prisoner, including someone at Northeast Reintegration Center, use the ODRC Offender Search rather than the county jail roster.
• For federal sentenced custody or immigration detention, use the BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System. These are separate from Cuyahoga County and ODRC.
